Georgie's Alibi Monkey Bar
A 28+ year institution: 4 bars, drag shows nightly, and $3 LITs on Thursdays. Where most first nights on the Drive begin.
Every gay strip in America has its anchor bar — the one that was here before everything else and will outlast most of it. On Wilton Drive, that’s Georgie’s Alibi. An institution since 1997, the Alibi is where most first nights in Wilton Manors begin, and after nearly three decades it still runs the most reliable good time on the strip.
The complex sprawls across four distinct areas — the Main Bar, the Times Square Bar, the Monkey Bar, and the Patio — which is why it works at every hour: casual lunch at noon, happy hour with the regulars at five, drag shows and video screens by night. Doors open at 11am every single day and don’t close until 2am (3am Fridays and Saturdays), making it one of the longest-running shows on the Drive in both senses.
About those deals, because they’re half the legend: happy hour means 2-for-1 drinks daily from open until 8pm, and Thursday’s $3 Long Island Iced Teas are the single most famous drink special in Wilton Manors — plan your Thursday around them or watch everyone else do it. The rest of the week’s bargains are on our happy hours guide.
Expect drag nightly, screens everywhere, and one of the friendliest crowds anywhere. If you only have one night on the Drive, start here — the Alibi has been turning first-timers into regulars since the Clinton administration.
